Materials and Process Technology
Directed Energy Deposition (DED) processes are the focus of the Materials and Process Technology department. Laser-based processes such as laser powder build-up welding and laser dispersion are being researched and further developed, as is wire-based additive manufacturing using electric arcs. In addition to the process technology aspects, the functionalisation of components via the material properties is the subject of the research work, as is the development of system technology and novel methods for process monitoring and control.
