Industrial Laser Technology with High Power Diode Lasers (BMBF no. 13N9909)
During the project Sinodilas mid-speed crankshaft components as concrete example are to be cladded via a laser process. The claddings will be made on main bearings as well as on flat specimens. Both geometries will be analyzed regarding their fatigue resistance to find indications of the influence laser cladding has on this material property. The long-term objective is to classify this process for the laser cladding of mid-speed crankshafts. Further goals are the qualification of the system and the process of camera-based, temperature-controlled laser cladding. During the course of the project the system will be transfered to Shanghai, China, where additional laser surface processes like hardening are going to be qualified.
