Plasma Induced Bending

Development of a simulation system for plasma induced bending (Vo 530/8-3)

Current approches to thermal induced forming simulations require an enormous computation time effort. This is espacially the case for the here considered multi pass incremental sheet bending process. Hence the aim of this research is the development of a system, which allows a significantly faster simulation of the plasma induced incremental bending. Therefore, a process optimized FEM simulation approach is investigated. This approach is based on numerical calculation, which is restricted to several decomposed partitions of the deformed zone with environmental influence modelled by boundary conditions. Similarities in the irradiation passes are exploited in order to formulate extrapolated boundary conditions which are used for the computation of partial results.
