Fatigue Strength of Laser-Cladded Componets
Prediction of the fatigue strength of laser-cladded components (Vo 530/31-1)
Regarding the fatigue strength of laser-cladded components only very few investigations have been done, yet. During this research project a three-dimensional model shall be developed which is able to calculate residual stresses space-resolvedly in a coating and an adjacent substrate. To verificate the model temperature-controlled claddings on round probe geometries are going to be made which afterwards will be characterised. Values from simulations and experiments are going to be used as input for calculating the fatigue strength and the places of origin of cracks. The goal is to be able to predict the optimal process- and/or material-parameters for the process of laser cladding regarding the fatigue strength and places of origin of cracks.
