Komorob

Cognition driven, modular and autonomic service-robot for in situ regeneration of deep drawing- and injection molding tools

In the bmbf project Komorob, a worn tool is regenerated by a cycle of measurement, welding and post processing automatically with the help of a six-axis robot (img). In an area of 1m x 1m, abrasion deeper than 0.2 mm has to be detected and regenerated by plasma-transferred arc (PTA). The part of BIAS is the development of an surface independent measurement system for the characterisation of the worn tool.
